Severe dental fear...?

The last time I went to a dentist I was 7 and now I'm 17! This is because I don't have dental coverage. So now I have this bacterial infection in my tooth and it spreads sharp pains on the side of my face and even my whole jaw. I'd like to know...

1.How agonizing/severly painful is it?

2.It is my top second last. Will I ALWAYS knowtest it's gone?Even if I don't move around my tongue?

Severe dental fear...?
Unless the tooth is completely bombed you will have a choice to do a roothcanal,or pull the tooth if it is indeed infected. You will use novacaine and after advil. I would recommend the nitrous gas the help relax you,it works well. Also beware the dentists are much nicer now days then when u were 7.
Reply:Are you having it pulled, or a root canal? Don't worry. I have had both, and you will be numb, and when that wears off you just take some Ibuprofen. You will be ok, I promise.
Reply:The greatest fear is fear itself. You must have this problem corrected. It will only get worse - and possibly lead to even worst infections in the body. Trust me, nothing the dentist will do will compare with what you are now experiencing. Good luck
Reply:You can find a Dentist who will give you a payment plan for the work.

I applied for Care Credit http://www.carecredit.com/

I got it and it's great. It is a credit card which you can only use for health care and you pay it back at a low interest.

The next step is find a dentist who works using Sedation. I've found a terrific one. You CANNOT ALLOW THIS PROBLEM TO GO UNCARED FOR!

I used to be like you, my teeth went uncared for since I was a teenager because of fear of the dentist and no Dental insurance. But now, I am going to let them put me under and get my teeth fixed. YOU WONT REGRET IT!
Reply:it is actually not going to be painful i have had to wear braces for over a year...so i know u wont have much pain....You wont feel it since the place would be numb and you can take painkillers but you might have to watch what goes into ur mouth for a while but after that you re good to go.

look at it as a a little prick compared to the agonising days u wld have had if u dont go to the dentist
Reply:Oh lordy, dear girl! I have had bad teeth for quite some time. It's not so bad for me. Males are not supposed to have all their teeth. But my parents spend lots of dough on my mouth, and I blew it when my teeth became my responsibility. The pain of the removal may be sharp, but it's better than living with the pain. If it's infected, a regular dentist may not pull it, but refer you to an oral surgeon. That will cost more. (I have two broken teeth. They are a bother, but I can live with it. Perspective time! I'm 46 and am missing 15 teeth. Take care of them while you can. You don't get anymore unless you are a shark.) To answer the second part of your question, I still dig with my tounge in the damaged areas. (Just did it now!) It's like my tounge thinks there should be teeth there, but still has to check.
