If my agency can make me pay back all the money for my insurance coverage while I was on medical leave....?

What do I do? I had job burnout and took family medical leave on April 12th. Our agency secures our job for 12 weeks without pay. I continued to receive pays since I had 13weeks of sick time accumulated. Those pays also included my health/dental/optical insurance. I pay $25 a pay and my agency pays the rest. I was told that If I do not return to the agency after the family medical leave I MAY have to pay back the insurance that my agency provided (approx. $1,200.) What do I do? Should I return for one day than quit? Should I not return at all and take a chance? AND, when I quit, can I get unemployment because I am quitting do to the high stress that my agency caused? I have to call my agency by tomorrow. Please help.

If my agency can make me pay back all the money for my insurance coverage while I was on medical leave....?
Returning for one day and then quitting could solve the problem, but you can't get unemployment benefits if you quit. But hey, you aren't getting them now, so it shouldn't make much of a difference.

I think "taking a chance" wouldn't work, because they would most likely go after you for it.
Reply:If you had 13 weeks of paid sick time as a benefit, you should also be entitled to your normal benefits during that time, and therefore you shouldn't have to pay. It's unlikely you'll be eligible for unemployment when you quit, unless you can prove that you were not suited for the job (the agency hired you for a job you couldn't reasonably perform).

How much does it cost to have a small cavity filled without dental insurance and will they treat me without it

I think I might have a cavity and don't make enough money to qualify for public assistance health care and can't afford a private healthcare plan!! What in the hell are people like me supposed to do? I refuse to pay $300 a year for a healthplan I might never use when $300 is a large sum of money for me. My workplace is too small to afford to offer it's employees health coverage either but I love my job. Is it fair that I have to choose between a depressing job and living in a cheap-rent ghetto and knowing I can go to the doctor when I'm sick? All I want to know is where do I go and what can I do??

How much does it cost to have a small cavity filled without dental insurance and will they treat me without it
Call several dentists and ask how much it will be to have a check up, cleaning, and a cavity filled. It'll probably be $40 for the checkup, $40 for the cleaning, and $60-$80 for the cavity.

Does anyone know how much would it cost to get a dental implant?

I do not have insurance coverage as the implant will be replacing a baby tooth

Does anyone know how much would it cost to get a dental implant?
I don't know your age but usually it's not recommended that you replace a baby tooth with an inplant as that you should get an adult tooth to replace it unless told otherwise by your dentist. If it is indeed an adult tooth it does depend where you go. I believe you have to see and Oral Surgeon to put in implant. The General Dentist does the crown. Unless things have changed. Your looking anywhere between $1000 to $3000 depending on where you go.
Reply:depends on the dentist, but ususally around $2500
Reply:near me they start at $2000

Does anyone know where i can go for dental work?
HELLO SASSY,

DENTAL SCHOOLS DO NOT DO FREE DENTISTRY, BUT THE COSTS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN IN PRIVATE PRACTICE.

SPEAK WITH THE ACTUAL DENTIST HE MAY BE WILLING TO DO WORK IN TRADE FOR DENTAL WORK.
Reply:try the dentist. lots of times they'll let you pay in installments instead of all at once. just ask. also, some larger cities have dental colleges and they'll do work for free so they can get practice.

Is it safe to go without health/dental/Rx insurance from now until early Oct? Or is it too much of a gamble?

I just graduated college and my insurance ran out. I am taking a job that starts in September and will give me full health coverage 1 month after I start. I am a young and fairly healthy female, although I do have IBS and some other problems, mostly relating to the digestive system, reproductive system, and my skin. I eat a balanced diet and try to exercise regularly. I have only needed to visit the emergency room 3 times in my entire life.

When responding, please give me an informed answer, not just yes or no. Please also explain your reasoning.

Also, other than Aetna or Cobra, is there any other short-term insurance I can purchase?

Doctor's answers especially welcome.

Thank you!

Is it safe to go without health/dental/Rx insurance from now until early Oct? Or is it too much of a gamble?
If you have car insurance see if you can add coverage for accident-related injury. That way at least you are covered for car accidents which would probably be the most likely thing that would land you in an ER. It is a gamble, but it's one most of us have had to take at some time in our lives.

Also check into coverage offered by your state. Usually there is some kind of public program you can participate in... it may not be the best coverage but it might give you a little peace of mind for the next few months without the usually large premiums associated with COBRA coverage.
Reply:no its not safe you could get in an accident tomorrow and need it my advise, get it as early as possible
Reply:I as well have IBS But I do not seek treatment for it I just deal with it. Also for reproductive issues you can go to planned parenthood or your local health dept for good but inexp. treatment. I am without insurance too. I only go to the doctor for my annual gyn visit. You should be fine with out it for a few months. Have your doctor write you a script for 90 days if you are taking anything currently or ask for samples cuz of no insurance most doctors will give you them cuz of no insurance. You could also look into auto owners companies and buy your own policy they are pretty inexp but that is only if you require treatment for the next few months otherwise I would say dont worry about it you will be fine without it. Hope this was informative enough for you
Reply:It is always a gamble to go without insurance. But I've done it for a longer period of time than you are planning. You might want to price out a short-term policy and see how much it costs. Compare that cost to the cost of an emergency room visit. Evaluate whether you would be able to afford the emergency room visit should you need it or whether you could better afford the short term policy and be covered in an emergency.

Can you claim out of pocket dental expenses on your tax return?

I paid for teeth cleanings and x-rays out of pocket due to having no coverage.

Can you claim out of pocket dental expenses on your tax return?
Yes. But, you can deduct only the amount of your medical and dental expenses that is more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (Form 1040, line 38).

(Here's an Example.)

Your adjusted gross income is $40,000, 7.5% of which is $3,000. You paid medical expenses of $2,500. You cannot deduct any of your medical expenses because they are not more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income.
Reply:If you file a 1040 Schedule A and can meet the income limitations on the deduction and IF you have enough other Sch A expenses.

Is it okay to put a dental deep cleaning off a few months? How serious is perio???

I went to the dentist last week because of some pain in the mouth (my wisdom teeth are coming in) and they have me scheduled for extraction on Friday.

They also said that I need a deep cleaning because I have perio (HOW SERIOUS IS THIS? DETAILS? ANY INFO ON PERIO WILL BE HELPFUL!!!)

After having my wisdom teeth extracted I won't have any more insurance coverage until January, so I can't afford the deep cleaning until then. Is it okay to wait until then? What preventive measures should I take in the mean time?

Any information, experience, or web sites will be helpful.

I will choose the best answer tomorrow morning before noon EST. The most informative, helpful answer will be chosen.

Thank you!

Is it okay to put a dental deep cleaning off a few months? How serious is perio???
A few months? This might depend on how bad your perio problem. If left untreated you can loose your teeth. This usually happens after a long time of neglected dental health. The best way is to ask your dentsit or hygienst if you can wait. Usually you can wait just a little while. If its costs you are afraid of there are some dental credit cards you can check out just to be on the safe side as long as your DDS accepts this form of payment: www.carecredit.com .

Do army wives get FULL insurance coverage?

like dental, medical, and vision? I am getting married, and i need to know if i can cancel my regular insurance.

Do army wives get FULL insurance coverage?
no dental for the family it's 40 a month and I am not sure about vision as long as you live on post and get tricare prime you get full med
Reply:The above answer is not entirely accurate. The dependents of an Army soldier get full medical benefits when they are seen at the military medical facilities. If they need to be seen at a civilian medical center then they must first get approval through TriCare.

Dental coverage costs a monthly amount that will vary depending on the number of dependents. I am married with three children and I pay $27.63 per month for them to have dental coverage. The dental plan does not cover 100% for the dependents. You would need to contact TriCare to find out how much the dental plan covers.

I am not sure what the coverage is for the vision plan. Again, check with TriCare for full information.
Reply:You get full coverage if you are seen at military hospital. Sometimes you pay a co-pay when seeing a dr off-post. You also need a referral to see someone off-post. I would keep my regular insurance just to be on the safe side because there may come a time when you want to see a dr who isn't in the TriCare network or a prescription that the Army doesn't cover. Try tricare.mil.
Reply:If you elect Tricare Prime, and live in an area where there are Tricare Prime providers, then the insurance is good. Dental is offered through United Concordia and covers 70% of most procedures, up to about $1500/year. Vision is offered through Tricare but the benefits only include basic eye exams every year or every 3 years depending on your age. Contact exams and glasses are never covered through Tricare.
Reply:James is very right on his answers.

An active duty soldier that is married... their spouse and kids get full medical/presriptions.

You also get 1 free vision screening every year per person. This does not include the exam for contacts. All eyewear %26amp; contacts are paid for by the family..... not tricare...buty the exam is free.

The dental includes 2 cleanings a year and a full set of xrays (once a year). You would have to request a booklet on the % you have to pay when it comes to all other dental work.
Reply:If you are married to an active duty soldier you do get full insurance coverage. You need to make sure that he enrolls you in DEERS right away and confirm that your coverage is started prior to canceling your coverage. Good luck to you both.
Reply:not really. Medical is dependent on which type you get. Standard has a copay and only pays a percentage. prime usually has no out of pocket costs unless you get Prescriptions off base. Dental is a monthly fee and pays a maximum of 80%( two free cleanings per year however). there is no real vision at all. One exam every year or two years, but no coverage on glasses or contacts(contact lens exams and fittings are NOT covered).

at all times, however, Tricare is the SECONDARY payee. So if you keep your current insurance, Tricare will only pay after that one does.

How can I get "pro bono" dental work or denturesI am single woman unemployed very low income & state won'thelp

About 4 years ago I was in an abusive relationship that at the end I was in the hospital in intensive care, beaten with a crowbar, most of my back teeth I had swallowed during the attack the rest had been broken off, cracked or chipped. I have since then been to the dentist one time when I had insurance, a job,and a family member that would help me out during the recovery. Right now I am unemployed,in a town that I truely don't have anyone that I can rely on to truely help if needed,my living situation is I now rent a room in a home that has no real privacy, and my transportation is currently bus, bike,or walk and I can't do that after oral surgery.Medical coverage in this state that I live does not cover "cosmetic" procedures and dentures,or bridges, caps, etc. are considered cosmetic. They will pay to pull all your teeth but they will not help get you new ones!! I like to eat.So..What can I do to get my teeth fixed and looking decent so that I can someday again smile.

How long do you have to wait to use your dental insurance once you sign up?

My teeth are hurting and I have no insurance as of now. I am not covered at work since i am considered part time. My boss is actually in the same situation as she hasn't been with the company for the mandatory period of time...3 months I think. She told me I can buy coverage on the side. But how soon can I use my coverage? And is it like a cell phone contract where you gotta sign on for x number of years? thanks!

Get on the eHealthPlus plan. It has no waiting periods

and no contracts.

Most every dental insurance has waiting periods.
Reply:Some planslet you use it right away. Depending on the company that you use you have to go by their rules. Where can i get affordal dental insurance online?
If you have good teeth and just want the basics you probably don't need any plan. A yearly cleaning and exam will cost you less without insurance.

You have four options with dental.

1. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done for a reduced price if you're willing to let them practice on you.

2. Insurance - Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they'll pay per year of $750 - $1500, they have a waiting period up to 18 months for major work and then you're paying 50% of the charges. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With insurance you pay $414 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage - you can use any dentist with most plans.

3. Discount plans - Cost - $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With discount plans you pay around $746. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health %26amp; dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes... concerning these plans.

4. Fee for Service discount plans - Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example - average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404.

I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo... specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.
Reply:Please email me at sandya1967@aol.com and i can point you in the right direction.. My family has been very happy with this company

Reply:Please avoid online insurance companies. They are unregulated by the state and many consumers have been unhappy with the result.

Reply:Individual dental insurance is not widely available because it is a money looser for the insurance company. You might be able to purchase a "basics only" plan through your state (I know Washington State offers one), but you could be better off putting money aside in the bank instead of paying premiums.

Insurance companies make money by taking in more in premiums than they pay out in benefits. While this may work in a group of insured people, it does not work with an individual.

Avoid internet-based dental discount plans such as Ameriplan. Please follow the link to see why this is not such a good idea.
Reply:You can try to call 1-800-332-7068; they offer coverage for all who apply. Please bear in mind that any dental insurance is meant to be a supplement, it is not like traditional medical coverage.

If your teeth are in good shape-- you keep up with somewhat regular hygiene appointments and are vigilant about brushing your teeth and tongue and flossing--you may consider paying out of pocket. Many dentists offer a discount for cash-paying patients.

For an individual, dental coverage can cost $65-$150 a month; depending, of course, on whether you opt for more complete coverage or add vision to your plan. There are many independant contractors who sell dental coverage, but I'd suggest calling the number above to start.

Good luck!
Reply:If you have medical, call them and see if they have dental programs. I found mines by talking with a few agents either by phone or in person (Blue cross, Kaiser, Delta Dental or do a search for dental plans). It was free and I was under no obligation to go w/them. Shop around. My dental cost $18 a month. Good luck!
Reply:You can check the internet for some dental plans that offered. They are basic plans that cover teeth cleaning and check ups with no co-pay sometimes. Look at the plan you might want, all the information is there.

What's the best way to find competitive health/dental insurance for my family?

My employer offered coverage is terrible so I am looking for ways to make sure I have been offered the best coverage.

What's the best way to find competitive health/dental insurance for my family?
you can find out about various insurance companies from your friends... once you have the information about the insurance companies.. then you can call their customer service and get all the information about the insurance and coverage.

If you are from USA i can give you few insurance companies names which i know to be good.

1. Aetna Insurance

2. Kaiser Permenente

3. Blue cross

You can also google..
Reply:I don't know if this will be the most affordable way, but I have gone to ehealthinsurance.com to compare rates. Granted, not every carrier is on there, so you may wish to shop at some of the larger insurance companies, like Blue Cross/Blue Shield if they're in your area.
Reply:If your employer is offering group dental, that will be a much better deal than individual insurance.

Individual dental insurance is rarely a good value. Since your family IS the risk factor, and not a large pool of people, you will ALWAYS pay out more than you pay in.

Have you looked into dental schools in your area? Our family receives their dental care at the UT Dental School in Houston. For basic care, the costs are significantly cheaper - about 1/4 to 1/3 of what is charged by a doctor in private practice. If we have complications and require specialized care, the cost is still 1/2 of what is charged in private practice. Same for orthodontia.

If you still want to look into private individual plans, I provide links to providers here: http://www.health-insurance-low-cost.net...

Do you need Health coverage?

there is a plan that isn't insurance but a discount card for all dental vision prescrition and health it covers like 40% at nhcdplan.com it is only $52 a month for a whole family! would I be better off with insurance?

Do you need Health coverage?
One of those news magazines did a story about that and it says that most providers don't accept the discount cards so the people who bought them usually paid more in the long run than paying for insurance. Also, check with the Beter Business Bureau (BBB) to see if tht discount company is in good standing. A lot are not.

I'm not telling you not to get them, I'm warning that a lot of them are not better for you. The report did say some are good, but the buyer must beware. When in doubt, don't use it unless you have a good friend who has tried it for the same purposes you would be and have had no problems. Be skeptical of their referals.

Good luck
Reply:Yes you do.
Reply:It depends what it covers. Check both plans and compare them overall.
Reply:you are advertising, you know, you can't do this on here
Reply:absolutely!
Reply:use your own judgement, insurance is so expensive but in the US you almost can't live without it
Reply:Yes. It's a fact that someday you are going to get sick with something that costs so much to cure or fight that you will not be able to pay 40%... such as diabetes, cancer, or heart disease.

If you can't pay, you'll have a difficult time getting the right treatment and you might be turned down for life saving treatment. This has happened to so many of my relatives.
Reply:those discount things arent always as they seem. Find out EXACTLY what they cover, because they might not cover some simple things that you would need like fillings and physicals!
Reply:yes i do,thanks for the address
Reply:yes..because different services vary..like if you had "this" done, you only get a percentage off as oppose to getting it covered by your insurance. also depends onthe the plan..but its all imo.
Reply:Yes . So much better . Even dough it might cost more but you can be sure that it covers everything . But I guess maybe for Vision and Dental it's not bad . I would suggested that you talk to someone professional about that and find the plan that's best for you and your family.
Reply:Yes, you would be better off with insurance. My husband just had a hospital stay (we lost our insurance the month before) and it came to $13,000. You do not really save all that much with those cards. For the dental you save like $10-$20 for like an Xray that normally costs $100. You would be better off with an insurance that has a co-pay or at least a smaller deductible.
Reply:i believe if you have young children Health insurance is the way to go especially since children tend to visit the doctor often and when they are teenager they sometimes go more often. There may be a way you can qualify for inexpensive health insurance through the state you may want to look into that.
Reply:Yup! Trust me, its a rip-off! I know exactly what you are talking about as I have checked into it as well, and they also claim they will do things like give free x-rays, etc., but the problem with it is, the only Drs. that go along with it are usually crappy, and then there is a long, long, waiting list before you can be seen. If you call any of the Dentists and ask for an appt. it will probably be at least 6 months before they can see you! Please, let me know what you come up with! Go on --give them a call and let us know! Thanx, Lauren
Reply:So you would still have to pay 60%? Well, if this place is legit, I suppose it's better than nothing. However, if my brother had that plan when he broke his leg and needed surgery, he would have had to pay $17,400. If my mother had that plan when she had her heart attack, she would have had to pay $24,000. Again, it may be better than nothing, if you can't afford health insurance and can't find a job that offers it. It's always a gamble...if you buy health insurance, you'd probably be paying at least $1,000 a month...so two years of that, and you could have paid for a broken leg or heart attack outright. Then there are always the horrific car accidents, cancer, etc., that could cost a million or more...:-)
Reply:It is probably only taken by very few doctors who you many not want treating you.

Military Retirees Tricare & Delta Dental - Are They Worth It?

Is there anyone out there who's found comparable/better coverage for the money?

Military Retirees Tricare %26amp; Delta Dental - Are They Worth It?
Yes they are! I haven't found anything comparable for the money. I've been retired from the Navy for 14 years.
Reply:Any insurance is better than no insurance.. Talk to your local congressman(woman) about the big military health insurance bill.
Reply:The military sure get the short end of the stick, Tricare dental is mediocre...not the worst I've had, but not the best. The tricare dental we have is through United

I need family medical/dental insurance, where do people get this if they are self employed?

We currently have very good insurance through my husband's work. He is in the process of starting his own business and will be leaving his current job soon. I am very concerned about finding affordable insurance they provides good coverage for my family. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I need family medical/dental insurance, where do people get this if they are self employed?
you can go to bcbs.com thats blue cross blue shield..or check out the local phone book for insurance companies in your area that sell the kind of insurance you are looking for and ask them to quote you some prices from the diffent companies they offer..check out more than one company around and see which one offers what you need and for the price range your a looking for.
Reply:I had my own insurance through blue cross for a few years. It was actually cheaper than the insurance I pay for through my work now. If you're healthy, it's not hard to get approved, and not too expensive. Another option is taking a part-time job at Starbucks - they offer insurance to anyone who works 20+ hours a week. Plus it's a little extra income :)
Reply:You may be eligible for COBRA medical insurance through your husband's employer when your husband leaves his job. If you are, the premiums will be higher than they are now, but they may be much cheaper than private medical insurance.

Your husband's COBRA plan may or may not include dental dinsurance. If not, private dental insurance can be astronomical for the self-employed. One plan I looked into costed $600/yr for a single person and just did not make any sense to buy. What I did was buy a dental discount plan. These plans are very affordable and they offer steep discounts at the dentist's office. If you want to see which plan you are eligible for, then go to http://www.lowpriceddentalplans.com and key in your zip code.
Reply:I buy my household products through this wonderful company that I also get my health insurance from. They are awesome. Jennifer
Reply:You're NOT going to find good, private, dental insurance. I've never seen a plan that pays out more than it takes in. So you're on your own for that.

But there ARE good companies out there that write decent private health policies - IF everyone is healthy. If you have anything seriously wrong, that generates medical bills, THAT condition is going to be excluded from coverage.

You go to your local agent - the guy that writes your house insurance and your car insurance - rather than buy over the internet, for a couple reasons: 1. You know you're not getting scammed 2. you know you're getting TRUE INSURANCE, not one of those ripoff health discount plans 3. he'll know who has the local providers in YOUR AREA, so that your nearest emergency room that's In Network is closer to you than 500 miles.

Keep in mind, it's STILL going to cost you about $800 to $1000 a month for HMO style coverage. Maybe a major medical plan with a health savings account, and a high deductible, might serve you better. But the local agent can "run the numbers" and help you out with this.

Has anyone had a good experience with First Commonwealth HMO Dental insurance?

I am running into a problem in finding a denstist that will accept this coverage. Especially when my husband has a PPO plan- then they use his coverage as primary and ignore the secondary coverage. They have stated that they do not have to honor the HMO fee structure; but they refuse to drop us the kids and my husband off of the list.

Has anyone had a good experience with First Commonwealth HMO Dental insurance?
Dental plans like this can be a real problem. The dentists are paid a fixed fee of about $4 to $6 a month for each person who signs up. Hopefully, they never show up in the office, and they keep the money. If they do, the dentist tries to sell additional services that are not on the discounted list.

Any dentist who is contracted is SUPPOSED to honor the fee structure--that's what the contract is. However, many HMO plans will not pay benefits on a secondary basis.

So, this plan may be a rip-off. Consider dropping it, and work with a specialist health agent to find a PPO plan that works for you.

The cost of dental braces check ups in USA?

I'm moving to the States in a month or so, in need of having my braces checked up and tightened on a weekly basis. Not considering the insurance coverage, how much does it usually cost each time I visit the orthodontist? Please do answer.

The cost of dental braces check ups in USA?
I don't think your visa really matters but my overall cost for braces is around $5000 and my parents pay $175 every month. so i think it will the depends on your orthodontist. I don't think you have to pay every time you visit, i think you get an overall price for the whole braces. when you go to your orthrodontist they will discuss a plan with you.
Reply:yes the cost vary depending on the visa statue?
Reply:well im 11 and it cost about 100 $ a month thats what myne is
Reply:braces arent cheap! they can cost anywhere between 2,000 and 9,000 dollars. you dont need them checked on a weekly basis, usually you make appointments every 6 or 8 weeks depending on what your orthodontist requests.
Reply:Hi Britney. I've been in dentistry in the US for over 25 years. This you have to discuss with the Ortho. Depending on how far you are on in treatment he will pro-rate the expense. Since he did not place the braces, he will simple follow the treatment plan, then remove the braces and make a retainer. You need to sit down with him and show him what the Ins. paid out to date and if you still have monthly payments due to the treating doctor. If that is the case he may take that. If you need additional monies for the retainer, he will work with you on a payment plan. Just be up front and discuss this heart to heart. M
Reply:I payed 5,000 for every thing and no cost for office visits, good luck

Extreme high dental bill please help me figure this out!!!!!!!!?

i recently visited the dentist on april fools day..... and my dentist was not pulling my leg........... its been since 2000 since i have gone. i have to have 2 crowns and a lot of fillings, mind you i have great looking teeth no creepy meth mouth or anything like that...to make a long story short i have a estimated bill of $4,3336.00. ya................ i do have insurance and im waiting for the quote to come back to see what is covered but my annual coverage dollar amount is $2000.00 annual. so my question is...would there be any kind of supplemental insurance or any kind of help i can get to get this work done and not have to sell my POS car lol...thanks if you can help and remember to brush you teeth 3 times a day or the dentist will ruin your life

Extreme high dental bill please help me figure this out!!!!!!!!?
$43K for 2 crowns and fillings? If that number's right, I'd get a second opinion and a new dentist.

If it's supposed to be $4K then that sounds about right depending on the actual number of fillings, though still a little too excessive in my opinion.

Maybe you could get the fillings done at a dental school and just have the dentist to the crowns? This might cut the cost a lot.
Reply:Nice rip off. If your insurance wont pay, the creep will sue. It drives dentists literally out of their mind to think that you andother patients are walking around with their work in your mouth and they not being paid.

Is this Dental Insurance any good?

Coverage from Genworth/Sunlife:

100% Preventive

90% Basic services

60% major Services

Is this Dental Insurance any good?
Yeah that is pretty basic for dental coverage.
Reply:Better than nothing.

Depends how much the weekly is?
Reply:Those percentages are based on 'usual and customary fees' and not the fees themselves.

For example, if the visit for a filling was $100, you would expect the insurance company to cover $90, right? Nope, it would depend on the 'usual and customary fee' schedule they follow... it may end up costing you a bit more if the 'UCF' is $150....

Hope this helped.

Looking for dental insurance.Any ideas?Suggestions?

I'll take whatever I can get that will cover surgical extracitons and doesn't make me wait a year or two for coverage.I don't even care what oarl surgeon the plan or plans want me to use.

Looking for dental insurance.Any ideas?Suggestions?
I work for this compnay called Ameriplan. They offer discounted benefits and the Dental plus plan is only 19.95 a month, plus we are offering a money bak on registrations fees if you sign up today!! They are not wating perionds, no limits. You would only be paying the discounted amount of 20%. If you are interested in that, visist my website: www.mybenefitsplus.com/wishes. You can actually sign up on my website. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 704-763-1241 or email me at cbrown61@ameriplan.net.
Reply:Don't waste your money on a discount plan! Most dentists if you ask or pay cash will give you a discount. Most regular dental plans require you to be on a plan six months to a year before they will cover 30 to 50%, and there is generally a maximum amount they will pay each year. Dental insurance is expensive unless you get it through your employer. Good luck!
Reply:Discount dental plan is the best way you can save right away on oral surgery costs. Consider oral surgeons on OralSurgeon4Less, make sure you have one close to your home. A lot of people don't understand how such plan can be cost effective. Do some research!

Wife needs Apicoectomy. Health insurance coverage?

I asked twice before with long descriptions of the procedure. If you are familiar with this, my question is: Is it considered a medical necessity to have this done? My dental insurance only covers $1000 and the procedure is supposed to be $8000. She needs it done on the 6 upper front teeth. I am hoping that my health insurance plan will cover it. She has an active infection in the bone and I feel that it is medically necessary to have this done. What are your feelings on this? I am not interested in an answer from "Biologic Dental Consultant" thank you.

Wife needs Apicoectomy. Health insurance coverage?
Thank you for saying that about the Bio Dental information they seem to be spreading all over here. As for your question it will need to be determined by the oral surgeon for it to be considered a medical problem and be submitted. In most cases such as your wife's, it is considered as such and the medical coverage picks it up. But I don't know the situation that has caused this and can't be positive, so you should rely on what the OS says.

I don't think obtaining additional insurance will help, as this will be considered a "pre-existing condition" and most all insurance co. have a clause that covers this and disallows any claims submitted. I would suggest just filing for a "pre-determination" (if there is time) to see what and if it's covered. The office manager or insurance clerk at either the dental or Oral Surgeons office will be able, and more than happy to help you with the needed forms and they will submit everything that is required for it to be processed quickly. You just need to relax and spend time and take care of your wife, who I'm sure is very anxious over both the procedure and the expense.
Reply:I don't know what you got in the other Answers, but has anyone suggested checking with your Medical insurance carrier? As an example, I have an eye condition that is considered Medical. So when I go to my Eye Dr., I not only file with the eye coverage, I also file with my medical. Call your medical insurer, explain your situation...good luck to you and your wife

I am very upset, I had a root canal done a year ago. Had the root canal, then had it crowned and spent over $1200 out of pocket (after insurance covered it's share.) I am now experiencing pain and sensitivity to hot/cold in the tooth that was root canaled. I also have a small lump on the gum above the tooth. So I went back to my Dentist who did the root canal and she x-rayed the tooth and told me I need to be referred to an Endodontist. The Endodontist has now informed me that he needs to do an apicoectomy which is cutting into my gum so he can get at the infected tissue and remove the very end of the root. He said sometimes root canals need retreatment and that my bone near the gum line has infection surrounding it. Now this procedure is over $1000 and my portion after insurance will be $525 (which I have to pay half the day of service and the remaining balance within 3 months) I am still paying off the original root canal and crown!!! I am so upset because he mentioned that he gives the tooth a 70% chance of success. I asked him what next if it fails he said well then we pull the tooth and you will have to look into a bridge, etc. I dont know if I should spend anymore money for just one tooth especially when i could end up losing the tooth if this doesnt work! Has anyone had a similar experiance? I have such rotten luck-

Hi, Ellie. I sure feel for you. I had the same thing happen to me, with a top right molar (second from the back). The sensitivity to hot/cold could mean that an extra canal was left in the tooth. I would ask the Endondtist if this might be the case. That's what happened to me, with my molar. The tooth hurt as much before the root canal, as afterwards. So I went to an Endondtist...he did a re-treat root canal; found an extra canal...but the tooth continued to hurt. Then I had an Apioectomy done; and it still hurt. I ended up pulling the tooth, after all that. That tooth also had been crowned (one dentist told me that crowning it might help calm it down: this was before the root canals: it didn't help). I ended up getting the tooth pulled, and a bridge made. This is all very expensive. I'm fortunate: I have this HMO type dental insurance. I only had to pay like $300.00 for the Apio; but I did pay $800.00 out of pocket for one root canal, and then I paid for the crown too. Then the bridge cost over $900.00. I don't know what to tell you. I do suspect they might have missed a canal: that's the only reason I know of, that the tooth would still be reacting to cold/hot. Maybe someone else will know more about it. Good luck to you; Deb

please, get it pulled! I did and I feels so much better now. It is so unhealthy to have a "dead" or rotted tooth in your mouth, even if they get most of the infection out some will always remain unless you pull the tooth...that's why root canals fail alot of the time.

I am in a very similar situation, except I had the apico done and I am now trying to decide whether to have the root canal retreated or not.

Here's my story in a nutshell:

March 02: Have root canal and tooth crowned

June 03: Discover abscess on root canalled tooth. Major pain, especially with heat.

July 03: Have apicoectomy done on tooth. Start recovering.

Aug 03: Begin having pain with hot foods/liquids again. Endodontist has offered to do a retreatment of the root canal for free (which he didn't do in the first place). That is scheduled for next week. But, in the meantime, the pain with heat has subsided, and leaves me wondering if I still want to go through with the retreatment.

If I don't do it and have problems a month later, I may not have the chance to have it done for free. But maybe the tooth is "healing", if that is at all possible. :-( I never knew a root canaled tooth could cause so much trouble.

I wish I could see into the future and know if this thing will ever get better on its own, or if it will only wind up flaring up again.

I had a root canal, then a year later the tooth broke off at the gum line. I had to get what was left of it pulled out.

I think root canals are bull crap and I'm all for just pulling the tooth and ridding your body of the poison.

I'd do what others here have said and ask if there's an extra canal. If there is, I'm not sure how an Apic would work, since that deals mostly with the bottom of the root. If you are going to have surgery, it should at least have a high probability of success. I don't know about percentages. My first root canal had a 95% chance of success but failed b/c of an extra canal(which means it had no chance of success, really). The retreatment had a 85-90% but actually was a more thoroughly done procedure than the first. I guess I'll have to see...the annual check up for it is coming up.

Aetna Vital Savings or Delta Dental?

I live in Hoboken, NJ. I am looking for basic coverage for me (26) and my husband (44), as well as my father-in-law (67). We need just basic coverage for us and additional services for my father-in-law. We're not really concerned about the out of pocket costs, and would prefer something that offers the easiest plan to use plus access to the most dentists.

Which would you recommend and why?

Aetna Vital Savings or Delta Dental?
I billed for dental insurance payments for the last 3 years and I can tell you from my experience that Delta dental is accepted most places and if Aetna Vital savings is an HMO don't get it- a PPO insurance is ALWAYS better- you can choose where you want to go and most dentists accept Delta.

Best dental insurace?

need implant surgery done, and looking for the best plan coverage the covers it.!!! I live in Ohio.

Best dental insurace?
Implant surgery is so expensive that it is generally NOT covered by any dental insurance.

Most of the time, the only way to get really good dental coverage is through your employer. When you buy dental insurance as an individual, there are deductibles and co-pays and annual maximums that you need to analyze in order to figure out when and if you will actually save money by having insurance coverage. Some of the premiums I have seen make it almost impossible to realize any positive cash flow from the related policy. I mean, at $60 a month with $100 deductible and $1,000 annual maximum, you will have to take $820 out of your own pocket before you realize one penny of "profit" or net gain from your dental insurance.

Then you have to calculate the effect of co-payements. Check the figures and do the math yourself.

Be cautious about buying or choosing a plan where you do not have any choice about the dentist you can see, because you just might not like the dentist(s) listed on the plan and then you are stuck for a year until you can get out of it.

Be cautious about buying a so-called "dental discount plan," often mentioned on Yahoo!, since they also have restrictive lists and they really are not dental insurance at all. Just be careful and understand what you are buying.

For many people who just can't get good dental insurance, a regular savings plan sort of like a Christmas Club with $20-25 a month deposited into a dedicated account will pay off when you examine the return over a lifetime. You may run way over your savings at first, but once you get your mouth straightened out, your annual expenses should not be more than a couple hundred dollars most of the time.

For major treatment, dental insurance is no great deal anyhow. They limit you to $1,000-1,500 per year, subject you to deductibles, co-pays, etc. Imagine if you were in a car accident and your carrier said, "Yep, it's a total loss. Here's a check for $1,500. Good luck coming up with enough money to buy a new car." Dental "insurance" should usually be considered a payment arrangement where you give your dollars to a large company who holds onto them until you say the secret word and manage to get a few of them back.
Reply:aetna is the only plan i know that covers them. they're expensive, but it's a numbers game and you get what you pay for. either way, you're going to pay for them, whether it's straight cash, or a discounted rate after paying an exorbitant premium for "good" insurance. nothing's free as far as medicine goes, and you pay for it one way or another. i personally skip dental insurance altogether, because nothing in the mouth is that catastrophic that it is less affordable than years of insurance+copays
Reply:I agree with most of what Dr.Sam says above....but I have begun to see more and more of the big companies (Delta, MetLife, Aetna) and some of the union plans cover implants.

As implants become a more common option to replace a missing tooth, insurance companies will eventually get on board.

When there is coverage, it is usually in the form of a "lifetime" benefit like ortho.

As for the question - if you do not have insurance offered by an employer, you're probably out of luck. Individual dental plans are hard to find and - as Dr. Sam correctly states - usually not a good return on investment.
Reply:Dr. Sam is the man! Yeah, go try to get a job with a company that offers dental. I co-pay like $13.50 a month for me and my three kids. It pays 100% preventive (checkup, cleaning) and 80% for most dental work, with $2000 yearly limit. It came in handy recently when my son sheared off two front teeth skateboarding. Nice new crowns at 11 years old....I'm in Ohio too!
Reply:Dental Surgery is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Eye surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for American and Canadian patients, as dental surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Dental and Lasik Surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. Hope this helps

Dental problems?

I have extremely bad teeth. I didn't get that way until I was pregnant with my 3 year old. I cannot get full insurance, and even if I could, theres always a $1,000 spending limit. My question is, does anyone know of any programs, or dentist in Holland, Mi. that do pro-bono work, or can help with full or most cost coverage? I'm desperate. I am so tired of being in pain

Dental problems?
Lucky for you , maybe.... I went to college w/ a guy at Calvin in GR named Jeff Huisman - both he and his dad are dentists - I think they are in Holland or possibly Zeeland.

I can't promise that they will necessarily cut you a break in the cost, but I do know that they are kind and compassionate individuals who do a lot to help their community.

I will take this opportunity to explain why a lot of dentists can't do pro bono work - it costs a LOT of money to run a dental office; pay staff, buy supplies and the like. If you're a younger dnetist like Jeff and I, you're probably six figures in debt.

I work at a non profit, but we can't do crowns there; if someone REALLY needs just one crown, I can see them in my private practice and do it for half cost but it's still $500 out of pocket and that's me eating my profit for them. :(

So the best you can usually do is reduced fee.

Dental schools are a good way to go, but you'd have to drive to Ann Arbor or Detroit for that and it's a trek; i've done that drive enough to know!

Lastly, don't be too convinced that you ABSOLUTELY have to save every tooth - if you need root cnals and crowns and all that, even WITH insurance you'd be spending thousands. I'm not a big fan of full dentures, but when cost is a concern, a lot of times some fillings, some extractions and some partial dentures are a very good way to go! Don't be afraid to pursue a "compromise treatment" -the docs don't always pitch these but I dont' know about the ones in your area in terms of practice philosophy.

Good luck and God bless - let me know if you have any questions!
Reply:I feel for you, nothing hurts worse, not even child birth.

Try checking with your local health dept.
Reply:Why can't you get full insurance? And how much will it cost you to get your teeth fixed? Do you know what you need done? I'll tell you one thing, pregnancy really does your teeth in. I just finished my third pregnancy, my teeth were fine until I started having kids, now they're awful.
Reply:How close are you to a dental college? I don't remember where Holland is, but if you can get to one fairly easily, they do great work.

Yes, it is a student who does the work, but they have to have everything they do inspected by their instructor. I took my son to one when we were in Houston. I couldn't afford dental care.

My teeth were so bad I didn't qualify, however, I did find out about a clinic where I could get them extracted for a fraction of the cost because it was graduating students working there.

Please understand, the infection from bad teeth can cause severe illness or death. Not to scare you, but people need to know that.

Dental Insurance Question (Law Related)?

I had to go to a specialist to get my wisdom teeth removed. We had consultation and the amount I need to pay up front, after insurance coverage, was disclosed. After the surgery, months later, they mail me a invoice stating I have another payment due because my insurance has reached it's maximum. I called and ask why am I being billed. They defended by saying there must have been claims on the insurances in my part that drew money from the account so the insurance couldn't cover the proper amount that was disclosed. I looked into my insurance and it showed that were no activities within a week before during or after the consultation. So I called again and explained that the error was in there part but they kept arguing that the estimate is just a estimate, they could never be exactly, and that there is nothing they could do. Yet the quote was off by 13% of the total cost. Any knowledge on this subject would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dental Insurance Question (Law Related)?
As you indicated, it was a estimate/quote. Unless you have something in writing indicating you only have to pay a certain amount, then there is nothing you can do, but to pay it.

Any ideas for good Dental Plans?

Have Guardian through work, but have numerous probs with them.We are retired Military, is Delta good? The snag is we have 18 and 19 yo sons who needs to be on our coverage who are not full time students. Just want some help with where to find a good plan. Also, spouse has Aetna coverage for the family, same guidelines, is there a way we can use one plan as the primary and one as secondary so that more of the costs are covered??

Thanks!!

Any ideas for good Dental Plans?

We have 2 dental plans . Why can't we ever get 80% of our bills paid?

One plan will pay 80% of it's coverage the other

will pay 20% of it's coverage and we still owe

25 to 30% go figure.

We have 2 dental plans . Why can't we ever get 80% of our bills paid?
Well, you must get into a sort of Voodoo Math invented by insurance companies to get out of paying.

Here's how it works: your primary plan pays first - in your case 80%. After the primary pays, the secondary is billed. What they pay depends on a clause called "coordination of benefits".

"Full" or "standard" coordination means - if your bill is $100 and the first insurance paid $80, the second insurance would pay $20 and you wouldn't have to pay anything.

"Non-duplication" means - if your bill is $100 and the first insurance paid $80, the secondary would subtract that $80 from what they would have paid if they were primary. So, if their "usual and customary" payment would have been $80, then there is nothing left for them to pay. If, however, the primary only paid $60, they would pay the balance of what they WOULD HAVE PAID, which would be $20.

Confusing? I've only described the two most common types of coordination of benefits - there are many more.

It's great that you have two plans, and in some cases it will help you a lot. Sometimes, it doesn't pay to carry the secondary because you end up paying more in premiums than you will ever get in benefits.

Insurance companies are in business to make money for shareholders. To do that, they must take in more in premiums than they pay out. They will make it as difficult as possible to pay claims - that's their job.
Reply:I know! my dental plan sucks! It has $1000 per year cap on it, so 1 root canal (of which I still had to pay 20%), and now I'm done for the year!
Reply:Check your deductibles. You may have a high deductible or a per procedure deductible.
Reply:Insurance companies are businesses that exist to make money. Once you realize this, you'll understand why it is they take oodles of money from you and bicker over every last payment.
Reply:First they usually bill your primary insurance.

Also there is what is called usual and customary fees( I think thats what they are called)....but your dr. can charge anything he wants...but insurance may not pay that high of a rate...and you are required to make up the difference...plus your 20%
Reply:Just a suggestion but try asking your dentist to accept your insurance plans payment as paid in full. And ask for a discount if you pay timely, in full or by cash. And as always ask your dentist for the treatment plan including the costs to submit to your insurance company for review. And also before buying your dental insurance plan know the customary dental charges of your area. And if helpful visit these sites for 15 tips to cut dental costs. Hope you find this helpful.
Reply:Emmalue has accurately described what some call the "least benefits coverage" clause. This is illegal in New Jersey, so it might also be illegal in your state.

Which provides better health Insurance coverage? Traditional Medical Coverage or Short-Term Medical Coverage?

I just transitioned from a student to a worker! In school, my university provided insurance services to me so it was not a big deal. However now I have to look for one myself. My employer says that I can select any type of plan I want and he will pay 50% of it, subject to a $100 per month cap.

I have never fallen sick, touch wood, and have never used insurance.

So, for a person who seldomly visits a doctor, which is better. Traditional: $ 70 per month $1500 deductible $7500 max. annual out of pocket. Roughly 30% Co-Payments an most of the services.

Short Term: $ 30 per month $500 deductible $1000 max. annual out of pocket. Roughly 30% Co-Payments an most of the services.

Traditional +s: No need to pay in bulk, includes dental, vision and life.

Short Term +s: Low premium, deductable and Annual OOP.

Traditional -s: High Premium, deductable, Annual OOP and Co-Payments.

Short Term -s: Need to buy every 6 months, no dent. no life.

Which provides better health Insurance coverage? Traditional Medical Coverage or Short-Term Medical Coverage?
This is an excellent question!

In America people are purchasing "Short Term" Policies are opening themselves up to a "world of problems". You see in the United States we passed a law that enables employees be offered "Cobra" , Cobra is for your "protection". Let me give you a couple of "What ifs"

a. I go work for ABC Corp. and call up a few "slick" agents who sell healthcare and they sell me a Short Term policy, sounds great!..11months into the policy the Doctor discovers a tumor in my body, and says it is Malignant- I have cancer. So I call my short term company, and they say well your policy ends in 30days, I ask the company can I convert to a Permanente policy, and they say "NO", because of your medical conditions.

b. Second Ex. I sign up with my employers plan, and I am diagnosed 11months into the plan with Cancer, and I decide to quite employment, I am offered Cobra!. So lets keep going, lets say I pay for Cobra for 18months (until it ends) and I am still having Chemotherapy, and thus un-insurable by health companies. Here is the Good news!!!..I am eligible for HIPPA coverage !!!.."lifesaver"..any company offering health insurance will have to accept me into a HIPPA plan.

As you can see the only way a person can take a risk with a short term policy if they can "See the future".. and if your crystal ball shows you not needing any health services over your lifetime, then just refuse coverage!..

Do not trust any salesperson, read articles and do your research, Paul Zane's books are pretty good.
Reply:just make sure the short term can be kept for as long as you want it and also that it covers you while you are in the states some short term coverage is travelers insurance
Reply:check out this medical insurance at http://www.EveryoneBenefits.com/40444442 have any questions feel free to contact me
Reply:Go traditional. Short term is just for that - a short term. If you get sick during the short term policy, it will be a pre-exisiting condition and won't be covered by the next 6 month short term policy.

Amalgam / Composite Fillings allowed by insurance - is bonding the same?

I need to have my front tooth bonded as it chipped and now looks ugly. My insurance company's dental coverage permits "Amalgam / Composite Fillings", Can a dentist or someone in the profession tell me if bonding falls within this category?

Amalgam / Composite Fillings allowed by insurance - is bonding the same?
'Bonding' is the common lay term for a composite filling, so you should be ok.

Wisdom tooth partly errupted had pieces breaking off the rest is under the gum I have no pain?

Just wondering if It would be ok to wait until I get dental coverage in 3 months to have it removed? Does anyone know of a good dentist in the Palm springs area? I'm new here and scared of the dentist??

Wisdom tooth partly errupted had pieces breaking off the rest is under the gum I have no pain?
NO rather have it removed now if it is giving you pain.

Yale Health Plan!?

My bf's educational status is: "Return to School"

Meaning that he's taken a sem off and he'll be bak in FALL. Is he still covered under Yale Health Plan? (he paid for a full year u know).

Also whatz the Dental Coverage? Nobody answerz my phone callz!

Yale Health Plan!?
Yes he is covered but only until the end of the semester. Sometimes they drop it earlier then the very last day. The dental coverage is just about like delta dental. Its ok. but not very good. My dad went to yale, I asked him. lol
Reply:Most schools require you to be enrolled to enjoy those insurance plans. You should personally go over to their office and talk to them if they dont pick up your phone. Even if they do, DO NOT ask such lengthy questions on the phone. It's always beter to fix up an appointment and then talk face to face. Hope this helps!
Reply:If he paid for a full year it probabely not void when he is out of school but will rollover when he gets back
Reply:IDK girly
Reply:i dont get it!!!!!
Reply:Coverage for yale is ok, i think 70%, but i cant say it

How much were your wisdom teeth extractions?

Currently a poor college student, of course with no adequate dental coverage. I am in the process of pulling out (2) wisdom teeth and am wondering how much were the total charges? I'm talking pure charges here, before your insurance took care of anything. Also, please indicate how many you decided to take out, and which anesthetic you chose (IV vs. local or both). Thanks a Bunch.

How much were your wisdom teeth extractions?
I had ONE wisdom tooth removed, it was impacted - so HAD to be removed.

I had both the general anesthesia and the local - this was recommended, because he had to slice my gum open with a scalpel, hammer the tooth, excavate it and sew me back up.

The total cost was $900. This excludes consultation and possible 360 x-ray, that was an additional $170.

The surgeon recommended for me to take all four wisdom teeth out, but I decided against it. It must be noted that the anaesthesia where I went to charged per 15 minute sessions, so in a way - it would make more sense to remove ALL of them at once.
Reply:I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled last year. I believe that the bill was just over $1,000.00 dollars before insurance. I was given only an IV medication and put into a "twilight" state, which was weird, yet affective.
Reply:it depends. if your wisdom tooth is impacted or erupted. impacted wisdom tooth are in abnormal position and may need surgery. while erupted are wisdom tooth in normal position and may easily be pulled out just like any other tooth, but dentists usually have higher rates for wisdom tooth even if the extraction are just the same process
Reply:Hi, I just had four pulled and it was with an IV under general anesthetic. The total cost was $1200 out of my pocket (been saving for awhile to pay it). I don't have insurance either, I have a Careington dental discount, and it knocked $300 off the price. I am in college too so I feel your pain. If you cannot afford this, why don't you try a dental school? One of my friends is, and she said they are only charging her around $800 to get four impacted teeth pulled. Good luck!

Does my live suck?

I was fired from Sam's Club. I walked a mile and a half almost everyday to work. Now I don't have a job. It will take me a long time to find a new one because between rent, phone, internet, and food, I don't have the money for a car. So, my job options are limited. I don't have a car so I have to resort to University of Phoenix Online to go to college. I live with my in-laws. They are filthy. They leave dirty dishes in the bathroom. My family criticizes my parenting skills because on one occasion when I was visiting them, they came home and the baby had woken up and was playing in his crib and I was still asleep. They say it's bad parenting to be asleep while your child is awake. I have a chipped wisdom tooth and no dental coverage. I have thin hair and I'm 28 pounds over weight. I smoke. I get about 6 hours of sleep per night. I'm in a relationship with someone I hate. Does my life suck?

Does my live suck?
Only until you change it.
Reply:yes, you suck.
Reply:yepper, it sucks, do something to change it.............and good luck
Reply:yes
Reply:Everyone has problems in their life-the question you should be asking is, "what can I do to change my situation?" We are not helpless victims-why did you get fired from your job? Was is due to any action on your part? Sometimes it's easier to throw up your hands and blame everyone else for your mishaps, but often, the events don't and can't change-so it's up to you to be in a constant state of misery or waking up and realizing you deserve to be happy, then doing something about it.
Reply:Wowzers that sux
Reply:well.. i would not say it sucks. its a bit of a bummer. but you don't want shitt'y things stop accepting shitt/y things!

Stop listening to everyone else. listen its easy to say your life sucks.. its easy to just let it happen.. do something about it! Start small and later on go big!

I wish you all of luck in the world, but it isn't up to me or anyone else to do anything. It is after all your life, and if you hate it...DO SOMETHING!
Reply:No buddy you got it all wrong your life blows
Reply:2 things to say to you,

you can either:

1. be the author of your own nightmare every day , or

2. be the author of your own destiney, and make it for the better,

either way, you will be in my prayers
Reply:Yeah... It sounds pretty bad.

You could possibly ask a friend to take you in while you look for a job. Just don't take too long and move out as soon as you're able to.
Reply:hate to tell you this but you are a complete LOSER! just kiddding, you need to laugh at life every once in a while or it will drive you to an early old age or ever worse STRAIGHT TO THE GRAVEYARD! so this is a good way to deal with your stress and anger problems which can be changed with the help of someone who cares about you and that can help you change your lifestyle. you need to be around more confident people to raise your self-esteem dude! Make yourself #1 and f**k everyone else! Try chatting online with people like you. Just hearing positive words from people everyday that you dont know can sometimes help you in life, like chat rooms and community services in your neighborhood etc.
Reply:You can change almost every aspect of your life you hate!

First step get off your sorry *** and stop feeling sorry for your self!!

Quit the smokes, dump your partner, get a job that doesnt require "college" and dont be picky, do some exercise and stop eating crap,

Wash the dishes that are in the bathroom you owe them for them letting you live there.

Last step stand in front of a mirror and say to yourself "I am the cause of this life I live, I am in control of it and I will change it!"

There are people out there with worse lifes, harden the ***** up you sissy!
Reply:your life really sucks!....but walking is good to your health and that's positive in the situations like yours right now...that relationship also sucks...why are you still in?...but, at least, i admire your honest and integrity to tell the truth...you're not loser at all...wait for the goods to come along, just be patient...
Reply:It does look pretty bad right now, but when you're at the bottom, there's only one way to go, and that's up! There are ways that your life is good too.

1. You have a beautiful child that loves you just the way you are!

2. You have the oppertunity to further your education (even if it is online).

3.You have no physical handicaps that keep you from doing what you need to do.

4. Walking around looking for work may help you loose that weight.( BTW,I could stand to loose just about that much myself)

5.Last, but definitely not least, you have a Father that loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Don't loose sight of the fact that we are on the road, not at the destination. Have courage, Heaven is your home!
Reply:It looks pretty bad. But you can change it.

Can dentists accept 80% payment as 100%?

New to this area, I am trying to find a dentist for my family. The first dentist was wonderful, but required an additional payment of my next born child for services. I have an awesome 80% dental coverage through work, and the old dentist accepted it as 100% payment. Was that just a fluke?

Can dentists accept 80% payment as 100%?
Yes. They aren't supposed to do that.
Reply:Each dentist is different, and not many will just hack 20% off the bill. You'll have to ask them.
Reply:Of course it was a fluke. Your old dentist was a nice person. There is no requirement that a dentist take any less than 100% of what he charges for his services.

You can look around. There may be a few in your new area who do the same. (But don't expect them to advertise the fact.)

What do guys really think about girls with missing front teeth?

Or no teeth at all? I had ugly buck teeth that hurt all the time before. I lost my front teeth and then I had all the rest pulled 2 months ago, so I don't have any at all right now. Hope to get some fake teeth in the spring maybe. No dental coverage and not much money. I'm 15, 5' 5 1/2", 92 pounds, blonde hair, kind of average looking except no teeth. Needless to say dating has been the pits. Just wonder what guys are thinking about me when they see me.

What do guys really think about girls with missing front teeth?
well to be honest a lot of guys have turned away once i smile. i have a chipped tooth and im use to it . it doesnt bother me but i guess looks are important to them than the person. so really they are doing us a favor by not asking us out. at least we know that looks mean more than personality

Wisdom tooth pushing back molar sideways..does it need to be extracted?

on the bottom left side of my gum, i have a wisdom tooth growing in. but today i noticed that my 12-year molar has been pushed to the right slightly, towards my tongue. also the flat part is tilting slightly to my tongue. will my wisdom tooth need to be removed? and how soon? it hasn't broken the gum yet. if i do end up having to get it removed, how much will it cost? i have no dental coverage =(

Wisdom tooth pushing back molar sideways..does it need to be extracted?
Most people do not have enough room in their mouths for their wisdom and yes it does need to be removed. If you have good credit, most oral surgeons offices have a loan program you have to apply for. Other wise, call around and see if there is someone that can take a payment plan from you. Also, call your local health dept. and see if they can put you on a sliding scale due to income. It will cost at least 2-500 dollars (depending on if a dentist can pull it, or if it needs to be surgically removed) , but call around and get quotes.....maybe someone would be willing to work with you. Don't wait for it to get infected, they will have to put you on an antibiotic and let that kill the infection before they can touch you and it could take a week or more for the infection to go away. Do it as soon as you find someone who will work with u.
Reply:Girl you better get some dental insurance ASAP or see if your health insurance will cover oral surgery because you actually DO need to get those wisdom teeth removed ASAP or they will ruin the alignment of the rest of your teeth.
Reply:if its causing you pain and moving your teeth it should be removed. if you wait too long to have this done then your wisdom tooth will continue to move up and move more than one tooth. this will in the end be more expensive and possibly lead to using braces or a retainer to move your teeth back in place. you can call local offices. sometimes they do consults and they can discuss payment options.
Reply:you really have to get it removed soon. I had all 4 of mine taken out at once. The dr told me that if they were left in theyd serisoly screw up the positions of my teeth, and I also had braces. If I remember right it cost 500 dollers but that was for all 4. I'd say if u arent sure u should go to an oral surgeon and get xrays and see what they think.
