Is this an inappropriate question for my employer?

I currently work part time as real estate property manager. I anticipate the company I work for will elevate me to fulltime status within a few months. They have praised me on my work performance so far. The problem now, however, is that I'm having some really bad problems with my teeth and need the dental coverage. Since I've only been here a couple of months do you think it's appropriate to ask my employer for coverage now, even if I'm willing to absorb some if not all the cost?

Of course it's not an inapproriate question to ask. The only reason why people work ; mostly is because they need to take care of themselves and going to the Dr. or Dentist is a way of taking care of yourself.If you were a Millionaire you would'nt need to work .

Reply:I would go to the HR dept. and explain your situation. Chances are if you are willing to absorb some or all of the cost, they would be willing to work with you, especially given your performace thus far. Good luck!!

Heck my bf works for a company with no insurance and borrowed over $1000 from his boss to have 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed. Paid back every cent of it- and if he ever asks his boss for another loan there's no doubt he'll get it.





It never hurts to ask.

Reply:Go ahead and take care of your teeth now and work out a dental payment plan with the dentist. Then work the rest out later after your promotion.
