Army National Guard?

Ok so if join guard do basic and ait. my questions once your back home do you have full time health and dental coverage???

Army National Guard?
Yes, but you have to pay for it. It's about $85/month for you, $253 for you and your dependents (if you have any). You DO NOT have to have been activated for qualification under the new program. You must be a current Guard member, and you cannot be enrolled in or eligible for the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program. Once you qualify, you may purchase the plan at any time throughout the year, there are no tiers or open seasons. Qualifying for and purchasing is a 2-step process:

To Qualify:

1. Log on to the Guard and Reserve Web Portal (under the TRICARE section at http://www.ngfamilyofone.org/ )

a. Click on the "TRICARE Reserve Select" box.

b. Select the type of coverage that you want to purchase: TRS Member-Only or TRS Member-and-Family.

c. Certify that you are not eligible for or enrolled in the FEHB program.

d. Select when you want your coverage to begin.

2. Print and sign the TRS Request Form (DD Form 2896-1) https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/apj/trs/

To Purchase:

Mail or fax your completed TRS Request Form along with the first month's premium payment to your regional contractor by the applicable deadline. You coverage begins on the first day of the first or second month (which ever you select on the TRS Request Form) following the postmark of your TRS Request Form. For example, if your form is postmarked in Octover, you may choose for your coverage to begin on the first day of the next month, November, or on the first day of the second month, December.
Reply:Use some common sense dude,, What do you think. Your gonna get full medical and dental for a 2 day a month job ?
Reply:Only when your on orders with the guard. If you only do your drill weekend and summer time, your only covered for those days. If you are AGR or on ADSW then you are covered full time.
Reply:Once you have been on active duty for 30 days or more you are eligible for Tricare Reserve Select. There is a premium payment. Dental is a separate program and an additional premium.
Reply:only active duty
