Curretnly, my kids recieve Medicaid in Texas. We went to the dentist several months ago. At that time, they had primary dental coverage through my X--which he no longer has today. The primary Dental piad 50% of the bill and billed me for the rest. When I called the dentist, they said that Medicaid doesn't pay after the primary pays 50% of the bill, meaning that I am responsible for the rest.
If Medicaid kicks in with Medical coverage after primary, wouldn't the same apply for dental, or is my dentisit just to lazy to mess with the paperwork enve though he is a medicaid dentist.
I have tried calling the case worker but all I get is the voive mail and no return phone calls. I have tried calling daily for the last 2 weeks.
Any help?
Thanks
Texas Medicaid Question?
I doubt you'll get a return phone call. These people and workmen's comp seem to live on a different planet.
Call other people in the department and don't take no for an answer.
Call your congressman. Don't email them or you'll just get an automated reply.
I would call and ask to speak with a supervisor over this person who only has voicemail and may or may not have stepped into his office in the last year.
The way the system works is that there's so many layers you have to filter through is that you eventually give up. Well, don't give up, keep calling and keep calling different people until you get a concrete answer.
Reply:Your dentist may not be a medicaid provider. It is his choice if he wants to be a medicaid provider or not.
