If you have (2) health insurance providers what the primary doesn't cover the secondary should mine does in the rx, hospital and dental and vision. Yours should do the same but if it is not working out your hr should let you cancel if you provide proof that you have insurance with your husband. My insurance gave me that option but I had lots of dental work and the secondary came in very handy
Reply:THE REALLY GOOD THING ABOUT IS THAT WHATEVER IS LEFT TO PAY BY YOU IS PAID BY THE SECOND ONE.

THIS IS A VERY NICE FEATURE.
Reply:Generally, there is no beneficial result from having 2 different insurance coverages for health. This is why: most health insurance companies will not pay what is covered by another insurance company. Most of the time, they will share paying 50-50, but you end up still paying your copay and deductible.

The exception is if you have Medicare coverage. By having additional insurance (called medigap insurance) the latter insurance will take care of the 20% that medicare does not cover.
Reply:You should only have to pay one co-pay and the other one picks up what the other doesn't pay but the first one probably won't pay as well since you have two insurances, usually if you were offered the second insurance you have to take it and if it was just available but not offered or required to take then you could probably just drop it,but you do have to let the first insurance know about the second and so on.
